Sip, Save, and Celebrate Community This Weekend!

Circuit this Saturday 6/27, new consignment program, in-store discounts, and local recommendations

Dear Reader,

This is The Sous Chef, Chief Canine Officer of Spoons Kitchen Exchange, writing to you for our second edition of The Sous Chef Dispatches.
As the weather warms, home renovations and demolitions heat up. We have recently been invited by contractors to salvage belongings from construction sites that would otherwise thrown in a dumpster. It's satisfying to save so many items, but many more end up in landfills.

We are posting more videos from our hauls on Instagram, where you can peek into old Pittsburgh homes and learn where some of our inventory comes from. I encourage you to watch and observe how I, the Sous Chef, closely oversee on-the-ground operations to ensure efficiency without compromising our high quality standards.
Please read further below to discover upcoming events and new resources.

June Circuit

Circuit is a monthly event where you can connect with small businesses, nonprofit organizations, mutual aid groups, and others who are growing Pittsburgh’s circular economy.
You don’t need to spend $$$ on a fancy machine to make delicious coffee! This month learn how to brew a better cup at home with Slapshot Coffee Services, a new repair business. They’ll be demoing simple hacks you can do with automatic drip coffee makers from our own inventory. Free coffee provided courtesy of KLVN Coffee Lab!

Redd-Up Pgh will also be joining us to help you declutter without sending anything to the landfill.
To top it off, we'll also be having in-store 20% off sales on our Coffee Collection of mugs, makers, accessories, and more.
So come enjoy some free coffee, learn something new, and help keep valuable resources in reuse!

New Consignment Program

We’re excited to work with individual consignors and small business vendors to give great kitchen goods a second life and carry amazing local products. Our new program is designed to be simple, transparent, and fair, with clear terms for pricing, payouts, and unsold items.

This beta program lets us test and refine our new consignment and vendor offering with a small group of approved partners before opening it to all customers.
